Dakota Days
Berlin based Ronald Lippok (Tarwater, To rococo rot, whitetree) and Al Fabris (Blend, Pacifico, Masculine/Femmine now Blonde Redhead) from Comerio, started the Dakota Days in June 08 after meetting on a tour through Germany with Ludovico Einaudi, where Fabris was on electronics and Lippok was on drums and percussion. They decided to record at Marmite studio in Comerio (former kitchen and bedroom of Fabris’ grandmother) where they felt very much at home and away from usual studio pressure. The recordings began with improvised sessions where music was recorded in a very playfull way using their own instruments as well as others borrowed from local musicians. Soon the raw material turned into songs after they found out that theiy shared the same fascination for bands ranging from Public Image Limited to the Fleetwood Mac. The end product is a particular sound embracing athmospheres from new wave to yard rock.
