Ibrahim Maalouf
Born in Beirut in 1980, Ibrahim Maalouf’s divided roots started in a country devastated by civil war. Shortly after his birth, Maalouf’s family left Lebanon for the relative stability of France and settled there where he was raised to understand and assimilate both European and Lebanese cultures At 26 years old, Ibrahim is a multicultural artist quickly becoming an international figure in the larger artistic world. Jean Pierre Mathez of the Swiss periodical Brass Bulletin has stated that he is a “among an exceptional small group of emerging soloists charged to defend the art of the trumpet worldwide.”
